Greater Lawrence's boys basketball team fell to Greater Lowell 68-52 late Saturday night in the semifinals of the State Vocational tournament. The Reggies will play their Division 3 opener Friday at home.

Greater Lawrence's boys used a balanced attack to smack Minuteman 63-30 to end its regular season at 16-4 and earn the top seed for the upcoming Division 3 North tournament.

The Reggies will also be in the state vocational tournament as the No. 2 seed and will host Greater Lowell at 8:30 p.m. Saturday. Top seed Worcester Tech and Monty Tech will also play Saturday with the winners to square off Sunday.

Jamal Rene led three players in double figures with 15 points as Methuen blasted Greater Lawrence 71-43 to move to within a game of a playoff spot with a 9-10 record. The Rangers meet Lawrence Thursday.

Chelsea hit a 3-pointer at the final buzzer then dominated the OT in a 58-50 win over Greater Lawrence. Alexis Estrella had 13 points in the loss.

Two of the top CAC teams, Greater Lawrence and Mystic Valley, squared off last night with the Reggies prevailing 69-49 behind double-digit scoring performances from Adrian Frias (13), Anthony Fabian (11), Michael Taveras (10) and Alexis Estrella (10). 

Alexis Estrella scored 17 points and added seven rebound, six assists and four steals to lead Greater Lawrence boys basketball 73-56 over Lynn Tech. 

The Reggies improved to 10-1, qualifying them for the state tournament. 

Never count Greater Lawrence boys basketball out of any game. 

Trailing Greater Lowell 58-46 with 6:09 left, the Reggies went on a 15-2 during which Alexis Estrella had nine of his team's 15 points.

Greater Lawrence had three scorers Anthony Fabian (16 points), Maikel Guerrero (14 points) in double figures as the Reggies beat CAC foe Whittier 60-47.

Erick Reyes (11 points) put Greater Lawrence ahead by 1 with a layup with 19 seconds left and Alexis Estrella (11 points, 6 rebounds) added a late free throw in a 47-45 win over Chelsea. Anthony Fabian paced the 6-1 Reggies with 12 points.

Alexis Estrella's 17 points and Joshua Suarez's 12 rebounds helped Greater Lawrence (3-0) stay undefeated and hand Minuteman (3-1) its first loss in boys basketball.
