Pinkerton Astros Girls Indoor Track '14-'15

Andover's Gray places 5th at Nationals

Governor's Academy senior Mackenzie Gray of Andover went 40-0 then 40-0.75 to place fifth in the triple jump at New Balance Nationals. No other local girl has gone that far. The previous mark was 40-0 by Camille Quarles of Pinkerton in 2007.

Big day for Sansing at New Englands

Pinkerton junior Morgan Sansing placed sixth in the 2-mile in an impressive 10:55.50, vaulting her to sixth on the area’s all-time list (indoor and outdoor).

Ortiz wins two events

Yorgelis Ortiz won two individual events, the 55 meter dash (7.2)  and the long jump (17-5.50), at the Division 1 state meet. 

Meanwhile, Britney Johnson of Pinkerton won the 1,000 (3:10.23) and teammate Morgan Sansing won the 3,000 (10:13) to lead the Astros to a third-place team finish with 46 points.

Astros almost sweep 3,000

The Pinkerton girls took the top five places in the 3,000.

Ariel Vaillancourt won (11:10.2). Britney Johnson came in second (11:20.5). Samantha Mangano took third (11:42.3). Tayler Lacey came in fourth (12:01.5). Sarah Gates finished in fifth (12:07.3).
