Pentucket wins CAL co-championship

The Pentucket boys indoor track team capped off a stellar season by beating Triton 54-22, finishing the dual meet season 9-0-1 to clinch a shares the Cape Ann League Kinney Division title with North Reading in just the program's third season. Sam Coppola took first in both the 600-yard run (1:29.73) and the high jump (5-8) to lead the way.

Blythe wins 300

 

Central Catholic's Lukas Blythe had a banner day at the MSCTA State Coaches Invitational, winning the 300 in 36.76 and finishing fifth in the high jump with a season-best 20-2.

Sachem relayers shine

 

In the Division 4 state relays, Pentucket's 4x800 unit finished second in 8:25.21 behind Brett Repke, Nick Murphy, Morgan Capener and Sam Cappola. Also, Billy O'Neil, Drew Fenton, Murphy and Coppola came in fourth in the 4x400 relay in a school record 3:38.38.

School record

Sam Coppola broke his Pentucket school record from last winter at the Winter Festival for small schools at the Reggie Lewis Track. Coppola won the 1,000 meters in 2:36.47.
