haverhill sophomore Sam Prescott seemed eager to return to the mat Saturday. Out briefly with bruised ribs, Prescott came back strong at the Hillie duals, pinning five straight opponents at 145 as the Hillies finished second in the dual-meet tournament.

Hernandez shines

 

Michael Hernandez had a big day as Lawrence went 3-1 in a multi-team meet, falling only to Franklin 40-21. Hernandez was 5-0 on the day with a 5-3 decision over 106-pound Lowell Holiday Tournament champ Hunter Verge of St. Johnsbury. Heavyweight Stanley Alberto was also 5-0 for the Lancers (20-6).

Owls romp

 

Steven Blaisdell continued his recent surge with three pins at 182 as Timberlane routed Bishop Guertin, Bedford and Merrimack to improve to 12-0 while extending its in-state winning streak to 136 straight. Ryan Cole had a pin at both 220 and heavyweight and both Nick Roeger (106) and Barret Kappler (113) were 3-0 with two pins.

Windham Sills

 

Trailing 33-30 with two matches remaining, Conner Sills took a 7-0 decision at 106 and brother Payton Sills had a second period pin to provide Windham with a 39-33 victory over Merrimack.
