Lancers race past Owls

Leading only 1-0 at halftime, the Londonderry girls soccer team exploded past Timberlane in their N.H. Division 1 first round matchup, winning 7-1. Olivia Stowell and Gwen Barnes each had two goals for the Lancers, who will face Exeter in the quarterfinals on Sunday at 2 p.m. Alana Smith scored the lone goal for Timberlane, which finishes its season 5-10-2.

Aryana Anthony scored 10 seconds into the game to give Timberlane the lead, then Kristie Springer netted the game-winner with four minutes left in regulation to give the Owls a 2-1 win over Merrimack.

Back with a bang

Freshman Morgan Lewis played her first game since Timberlane's first game of the season, having to sit out due to injury, and returned to score three goals in a 5-0 romp of Spaulding. Her sister, Maddie, scored the Owls' first goal.

Baby Owls

In her first varsity game, freshman Kerry Gannon notched a goal to help Timberlane take down Nashua North, 4-1. The Owls' other goal scorers, Monica Bogjowicz (2) and Aryana Anthony, are also freshmen. Tied 1-1 at the break, Timberlane scored three goals in the first 15 minutes of the second half to pull away.

Smith game-winner

Meg Oliver delivered the nice cross and Alana Smith put away the goal on a toe-poke with some side spin. That came with 12 minutes left in the game to give Timberlane the 1-0 win over Dover.
