Pinkerton captured four meets in impressive fashion to improve to 9-6 on the year. David Hammond was 4-0 with three pins at 120 and Kyle Setzer was 4-0 at 170.

John Leavitt (113), Dylan Musgrave (145) and Brandon Berube (170) had big wins for Timberlane, which topped Pinkerton 44-27. The Astros' Christian Kuechler had a pin at 220 despite being outweighed by a large margin.

Wise finish for Hillies

 

Sophomore Steven Wise won the first tournament of his career to propel Haverhill to thiird place in the 25-team Capital Classic in Concord. Wise won the 132-pound title, edging Windham's Nick Sawyer 2-1 in the finals, boosting his season record to 23-8.

Pinkerton sophomore 182-pounder Sterling McLaughlin remained red-hot winning all four times he wrestled at the rugged Springfield Duals.  Walker Stinson (113) and David Hammond (120) were also 4-0 for the Astros, who won one of four meets.

Three Salem champions

 

Salem had three champions at the Nashua South tournament, highlighted by 195-pounder Beau Dillon. He dropped down to 195 and got a pin in the final despite a broken nose and stiches near his eyes.
