Hillies nip Royals

Haverhill completed an impressive regular season with a 1-0 victory over Georgetown. The Hillies, who graduated eight seniors, will enter the tournament later in the week with both momentum and an 11-5 record. "I'm very happy with our season and, at this point, we might be stronger than last year's team (13-4-2)," said coach Fred Tarbox. "Some people doubted that we'd even be .500 this year, but we're a faster and stronger team overall." High scorer Casey Anderson, on an assist from Melissa Clark, scored 1:32 into the game and that was all the scoring for the game. That was Anderson's school-record 28th game. "We had some chances after that, but they had some, too," said Tarbox. "They're a good team." Junior Samantha Krenzer played an excellent game off the bench at stopper for the Hillies. Pauline Reilly had 10 saves for the Royals (10-5-1).
