Triton keeps rolling

The Triton softball team edged out Ipswich 6-5 to improve to 12-1 on the season. Grace McGonagle went 3 for 3 with a double and two RBIs, Emily Karvielis drove in three runs, Colleen McCarthy made a diving catch at third and Katherine Quigley struck out eight to earn the win.

Madi Codair blasted a 3-run triple in the top of the 8th to spark Pentucket to a 13-7 extra-inning win at Ipswich. Fiona Hill went 5 for 6 for the Sachems.

Taming the Tigers

Hayley Catania dominated a formidable Ipswich lineup on Wednesday, striking out 11 without walking any in a 5-0 complete game shutout win for Amesbury. Emma DiPietro also blasted a home run, and freshman Julia Campbell made a nice sliding grab to end the game in the seventh inning.

Walsh leads Clippers

Courtney Walsh had a monster day at the plate, going 4 for 4 with three runs scored and three RBIs to lead Newburyport softball to a 9-7 win over Ipswich. Paige Gouldthorpe got the win, pitching seven innings with four earned runs on four hits with seven strikeouts.

Georgetown drops opener

In rain-soaked conditions, Georgetown softball piled on the runs but took a 15-11 defeat. The Royals scored the first three runs of the game. Caitlin Donoghue hit a fifth-inning grand slam while pitcher Colleen O'Connor struck out three.
