Hannah Cuff scored a pair of goals to send No. 9 Central Catholic to a 2-1 win over No. 8 Methuen in the Division 1 North field hockey tournament first round. Olivia Lunden scored the Rangers' goal.

Claudia Crowe led the Methuen field hockey offense yet again with three goals and two assists in a 6-2 win over Tewksbury. Isabel Putnam was on her toes and made 23 saves for the Rangers (12-2-3).

Claudia Crowe had three goals and an assist and Nalia Fiato scored as unbeaten Methuen field hockey (6-0-3) blanked Lowell, 4-0. Julia Tardugno led the defense.

Surprising Methuen improved to 3-0-3 with a 1-1 tie against North Andover. Natalia Fiato scored for the Rangers while Isabel Putnam was credited with a whopping 25 saves. Kaia Hollingsworth had a big defensive save. Molly Willis scored for the Knights (2-0-2).

Trailing 2-1 as the clock hit two minutes remaining, Claudia Crowe came up clutch for Methuen field hockey and buried the equalizing goal to secure a 2-2 tie against Lowell. She also assisted on the first goal scored by Alyssa Felpel.

Piper Hugus had two goals and an assist as Methuen rallied past Tyngsboro 4-1 for its first field hockey win of the season.
