Central Catholic's unbeaten wrestling team bowed out of the Division 2 North tournament Tuesday, forfeiting to North Andover because of a lack of wrestlers as several starters were unavailable. Central finished the season with an 11-1 record while North Andover advanced to wrestle Whittier in Thursdays finals.

The Kingston Night Owls beat the Tide, 4-1. Tyler MacDonald fanned six with no hits in five innings. Brian Berthiaume finished up with two innings of one-hit ball. Sebastian Mexico was 3 for 3 and drove in a pair. Nick Comei added two hits.

In the varsity debut for both teams, Sarah Petisce and Panvi Patel won No. 2 doubles 6-0, 6-0 to help Methuen beat Lowell 5-0.

Eighth grade twins Breena and Olivia Lawrence played well at first doubles, winning 8-2, as Methuen blanked Lowell 5-0.

Abby Poulin rallied from a rough second set to win 6-3, 1-6, 10-5 in a tiebreak at No. 1 singles as Methuen topped Chelmsford 5-0.

Both the Andover and Methuen girls tennis teams entered their match unbeaten but the Warriors showed they're on a different level, winning 5-0. Isabel Zhou set the pace with a 6-1, 6-0 sweep at first singles.

High-flying Methuen improved to 7-0 with a 4-1 win over Notre Dame of Tyngsboro. Katelyn Wojtowicz and Mary Maxine Metivier picked up singles wins.

Katelyn Wojtowicz and Marie-Maxine Metivier rolled at No. 2 and No. 3 singles and unbeaten Methuen (6-0) downed Notre Dame-Tyngsboro, 4-1.

Twins Livia and Breena Lawrence rolled at first doubles to help Methuen top Haverhill, 4-1, in the girls tennis season opener.
