Mike Emmons added a team-best 31 assists, Tommy Busta had 12 digs and Gary Hinds tallied 10 kills for the Golden Warriors, who will host Lawrence on Saturday at either 5 or 7 p.m., depending on the results of the baseball team.

Methuen dropped Lowell in straight sets, 25-20, 25-18, 25-16, to advance to the North quarterfinals. Corey Michaud had a big game with 15 kills and 13 digs, and Mark Dougherty chipped in 31 assists. Also adding a win on the local volleyball scene, Lawrence topped Boston Latin in straight sets in the Div. 2 North first round.
