Josh Ingram drove in all four runs for Georgetown in a 4-0 shutout over Ipswich, in the opening round of the Spofford Tourney (at Georgetown). The senior outfielder cracked a three-run homer in the second inning and followed that with a run-scoring double in the fouth.

Long balls lift Sachems

Pentucket got two-run home runs from Jordan Silva and Brendan Locke as the Sachems outlasted Ipswich 8-7. Locke's bomb to leftfield capped a five-run first inning for Pentucket as it jumped out to an early lead before Ipswich gradually closed the gap.

Bouncing back

Less than one day after falling to Amesbury, North Andover baseball rebounded with a comeback win over Ipswich. Juan Areces singled home Brad Patnaude and Aaron Brunette with the tying and go-ahead runs in the last of the sixth.

Ipswich 6, Triton 5

Triton led 5-0 in the bottom of the fourth before allowing six unanswered runs over the next three innings. Blaise Whitman took the loss in relief of Jake Martin. Mike McCarthy was 2 for 3 with two RBIs for Triton. Brendan O'Neil was 2 for 4 with two stolen bases.

North Reading rocks Ipswich

Bobby Rosano made the most of his one hit as he smacked a grand slam to help lead North Reading to a 12-0 trouncing of Ipswich. Sophomore Ben Harrow was clutch with a pair of runs batted in in his first varsity game, and Kevin Singer went the distance, tossing seven innings of five-hit, five-strikeout ball.
