Termed "the championship" by head coach Kevin Maloney, Greater Lawrence Tech took home the State Vocational title by defeating Bristol-Plymouth Tech of Taunton, 25-22, 25-16, 25-16 yesterday.

 Trudy Goetchius tallied a team-high 12 kills, 11 blocks and nine digs to lead Greater Lawrence to a 25-22, 25-14, 25-13 win over Blackstone in the semifinals of the vocational school tournament. Paola Gutierrez added 14 service points and five blocks for the Reggies, who host the final today at 3:30 p.m.

Greater Lawrence its second-straight undefeated season following a 3-0 win over Presentation of Mary. For the season, the Reggies earned a 3-0 shutout in 17 of 18 matches. Paola Gutierrez and Trudy Goetchius led the team all season, said coach Kevin Maloney. Greater Lawrence competes in the Vocational School tourney, starting Tuesday vs. Blackstone Valley. 

Trudy Goetchius' blocking and spiking enabled Greater Lawrence to win a 32-30 Game 1 marathon and to top Greater Lowell 3-0.

With Greater Lawrence trailing 15-13 in Game 2 vs. Whittier, Jennylee Sosa served out the final 12 points in a row to spark the unbeaten Reggies to the 3-0 win.

Trudy Goetchius was a commanding force as 10 kills, six blocks and four assists from the junior helped Greater Lawrence Tech win its season opener over Chelsea, 25-16, 25-12, 25-11. Senior Gabby Martinez played well defensively and Vanessa Noise (10 aces and 20 service points) kick-started the offense for the Reggies.
