Chelmsford led in corners 14-2 but the Methuen defense held strong as the Rangers won 2-1.
"I can't remember the last time we beat them," said Methuen coach Karen McLaughlin. "They have had some games where we've had a great half and a not so good half. Today we played two great halves. They put a lot of pressure on us."
Chelsee Sweeney and Rebecca Armstrong each scored for Methuen (6-5-1).

Tewksbury made its first-half goal standup in a 1-0 defeat of Methuen. Seniors Jenna Fabrizio and Rachel Sterner were superb defensively for the Rangers (5-5-1) while junior Lauren Loffredo had a strong game at forward.

 Led by Ashley Adams' two goals, Methuen downed Lawrence 4-0.

Two goals from Lauren Loffredo lifted Methuen over the .500 mark with a 3-0 victory over Haverhill. Rachel Sterner and Jenna Fabrizio were staunch on defense to preserve the shutout for the Rangers (4-3). Alison Kimball played well in defeat for the Hillies (2-4).

Ashley Adams doubled her season goal total with a first-half hat-trick, powering Methuen to a 3-0 field hockey win over Central Catholic.

Senior Ashley Adams scored two goals and added two assists as Methuen beat Dracut 5-0. Methuen (2-2) had scored just two goals in its three contests. Chelsee Sweeney also netted two goals while Elizabeth Rosario and Sarah Malagodi combined for five saves.   

It took Laura Dimitruk weeks to crash into the scorebook a year ago, the Andover High field hockey wasted little time this season.

In the Warriors' opener, the junior broke a scoreless tie with Methuen 7:18 into the second half and added an insurance score moments later as Andover blanked the Rangers, 3-0.
