Pinkerton stands tall late to win state title

DERRY — The most memorable tackle of Pinkerton defensive back Ryan Coombs’ career happened to be delivered to a teammate.

“I was so happy that I charged (co-captain) Luke Somers and tackled him,” said Coombs, with tears of joy flowing from his eyes. “The emotions just hit me like a wall. It was unreal. I have never been so happy or so emotional in my life.”

Salem runs wild in 67-54 explosion

SALEM, N.H. — Against the top team in Division 1, the Salem offense went wild yesterday morning.

The Blue Devils rushed for a whopping 421 yards, had 542 yards of total offense from scrimmage, more than 700 yards of all-purpose yardage and scored 10 touchdowns.

Pinkerton sputters in battle of powers

Nashua North too much for Londonderry

LONDONDERRY — Nashua North ran the ball with authority and took advantage of some untimely penalties last night in a 27-7 victory over Londonderry.

North scored three times in the first half to take a 21-0 lead and then just coasted in the second half.
