Londonderry falls in state title game

HOOKSETT — The Londonderry boys soccer team's high-powered offense finally met its match on Saturday, as the Lancers were shut out by Concord 1-0 in the Division 1 state championship game before a packed crowd of 1,890 at Southern New Hampshire University.

Londonderry was held to five shots - just one on goal - and the team's lone corner kick opportunity didn't come until the final minute of the game. The Lancers did have a handful of chances, particularly late, but ultimately couldn't get anything past Concord goalie Dylan Thomson, who is a UNH commit and is widely considered one of the top goalies in New Hampshire.

Nate Gaw scored in overtime to lift the Londonderry boys soccer team to a Division 1 North quarterfinal win over Salem. Andrew Fichera scored in the second half for Salem to tie the game.

Trailing by one with six minutes to play, Salem's Alec Svenson scored the game-tying goal to salvage a 2-2 tie against Londonderry. Andrew Fichera scored the first goal for Salem, and Londonderry's goals were scored by Griffin Cowles and Nick Anderson.

Lancers down Astros in OT

Pinkerton scored in the game's opening minute but couldn't hold the lead as Londonderry went on to win 2-1 in overtime. Max Hastings scored for the Lancers on a penalty kick in the second half, and then Tom Stanley scored the winner in overtime. Cole Perry scored the goal for Pinkerton.

Coming off an 11-0 win in its opener, Londonderry boys soccer continued to roll with a 4-0 win over Winnacunnet. Josh Rutina and Nalen Iarribino each had two goals in the win, and Tim McEachern added four saves in net to preserve the shutout.

The Londonderry boys soccer team blasted Spaulding 11-0 in its season opener, scoring the first three goals in a span of two minutes and then finishing the first half up 6-0. Nate Gaw scored 5 goals, Owen Creed had 3, and Elijah Ellis and Griffin Cowles led the Lancers with four and three assists respectively.
