Fragione moves up

 

In her first year of cross country, Methuen junior Sara Fragione started slowly, but she certainly came on strong as the season progressed. On Saturday, she led ll local girl funners at the Division 1 All-State meet, finishing 22nd overall in a fine time of 19:18.02 on Wrentham's 5K course.

Cain takes 9th

 

Tewksbury, which had three of the top four places and five of the top 8, rulled the MVC girls meet but several local underclassmen gace hope for the future Saturday.

Andover junior Sarah Cain was the top local finisher, in ninth, one spot ahead of Methuen junior Sara Fragione while Haverhill sophomore Gabby Deroche was 15th and North Andover freshman Abby Mastromonaco was 21st.

Central grabs 3rd

 

Central Catholic's girls captured third place in the A division of the Bay State Invitational, which was won by Wellesley. The Raiders had a strong pack, led by Kathryn Montgomery, Janessa Nault and Kelsey Seamans, who finished 11-12-15. Close behind in 18th was Lily Angluin, who was the second freshman finisher.

Debut in first

 

Running her first-ever 5K race, Methuen track star Sara Fragione came in first in a dual meet with Notre Dame of Lawrence. Luana Machado was runner-up for the Rangers, who rolled 15-50.
