WEST NEWBURY — It was a repeat performance for Eric Kerr and Tom Arseneault last night in the Pentucket Invitational wrestling meet.

And, as a result, North Reading/Lynnfield was also a repeat champion.

Kerr (126) and Arseneault (220) won their weight classes for the second straight year and North Reading/Lynnfield repeated its team title, recording 186 1/2 points, comfortably ahead of surprising runner-up Whittier (139 1/2).

"We're wrestling well, but we'll know more in the next week," said North Reading coach Craig Stone, whose club is unbeaten (6-0) in duals.

One of the surprises for North Reading was 145-pound champion Dominic Monzione. Seeded sixth, he beat the No. 3 sed, then the No. 2 seed and finally the No. 1 seed, 2-0 in the finals. Teammate Joey Wise also won a gold medal, at 152.

For Whittier, Xavier Boisvert was an impressive champion at 132 and Dave Sachs was a champion at heavyweight.

"We were short two weight classes (113, 120) so to still finish second was a great accomplishment," said Whittier coach Harry Takesian.

Host Pentucket had one champion in 138-pounder Josh Wesolowski while Georgetown-Ipswich had a gold medalist in 195-pounder derek Chamberlain. He beat Pentucket's Sean Clohisy — who was wrestling for the first  time this year — in the finals.
