The Whittier Tech Wildcats fell just short in their title hopes, dropping a dramatic 13-12 decision to Shawsheen in the State Vocational Championship finals.
Nathaniel Buzzell, Devin Houde and Tyler L'Italien all netted three goals apiece as the Wildcats went right at their Commonwealth Conference rivals.
Patrick Rodden made a dozen saves for the 13-8 Wildcats, who move on to the Division 3 North tourney with North Reading tomorrow.
