Brooks nearly gave the undefeted St. George their first blemish of the young season. The green and white were just a field goal away from sending thier matchup into overtime.

Brooks found themselves having to play catch-up for the majority of the contest.

Quarterback Jake Hesse drove the team to a touchdown as time expired to end the first half. The two yard pass to Will Gibeley cut the deficit to 26-14, and gave Brooks some hope heading into the locker room.

Hesse threw for 167 yards on the day. A 30 yard pass to Patrick Freiermuth cut St. George's lead to just three with 4:57 to go. Brooks, however, was unable to get the tying score.

Jalen Martinez shouldered the majority of the workload for Brooks. The back was handed the ball 33 times, and shredded the St. George defense for 145 yards and two scores.

Brooks will now try to get back to .500 next week against St. Mark's.
