SOUTHBORO — Methuen's Jalen Martinez rushed for 129 yards and four touchdowns, including three scores in the second quarter alone, to give Brooks a 49-6 drubbing of St. Marks.
"It was a great effort by the boys," said Brooks coach Pat Foley. "They prepared hard for this game and were ready. Our running game worked very well."
The Green and White opened the scoring in the first through the air. Former Pentucket standout Pat Freiermuth of West Newbury caught a 25-yard touchdown pass from Jake Hesse, who finished the day 6 of 6 throwing.
"Jake did a very good job of getting the ball to the guys in the passing game," said Foley. "That is what we are asking from him."
From there Martinez went off. He finished the first quarter with a 2-yard score, then opened the second with a 4-yard TD.
After a Jaylen Cromwell score, Martinez added two more touchdowns to give his squad a 42-0 dominant advantage at halftime.
From there the backups took over for Brooks, which hosts Rivers on Friday at 7 p.m.
