SOMERVILLE — There were some big numbers put up by the Methuen softball team Monday, but none more so than by senior catcher Kat LeFebre.
In the Rangers' 20-4 romp over Somerville, LeFebre not only was 3 for 3 with four runs scored but had a grand slam homer for four RBIs, giving her 102 RBIs for her career. She passed 100 hits for her career several weeks ago.
"I don't think there are many players who have done that," said Methuen coach Jason Smith. "None at Methuen that I know of."
Also having a big day for the Rangers (10-7), who qualified for the state tournament for the 16th straight year, was sophomore Kelsie McGonagle. She had four hits, scored three runs and had a pair of RBIS. Another sophomore, Lynette Urena, was 2 for 3 with four RBIs.
