WINDSON, Conn. — Eddie Houghton rushed for 118 yards and three touchdowns to lead Phillips Academy to a 28-0 victory over Loomis Chaffee yesterday afternoon.
“We got in our own way a little early on offense,” said Big Blue coach Leon Modeste. “But we started to move the ball and got things going. Houghton had a great day.”
Houghton opening the scoring in the first quarter with a 39-yard touchdown run. He then added a pair of scores in the third, from 25 and 1 yards.
Dan Hussey chipped in with the other score, hitting Luke Duprey on a 17-yard touchdown pass. He added 56 yards rushing on nine attempts.
Andover’s Sam Clark led the Big Blue defense from linebacker, making four tackles and a sack while also excelling at tight end. John McKenna chipped in with a team-high six tackles, Andy Pohly added two sacks and Anthony Morlani picked off a pass for Phillips. Andover’s Reid Mosquera stood out on the defensive line.
