For the next three years, one brother-sister tandem will determine how well the Triton boys and girls soccer teams finish. Dan and Jenna Norton each will attempt to swat and deflect away as many shots into the marshes of Byfield as each fills the role of starting goalie on their respective varsity teams.

BYFIELD -- Lawrence went to the well three times too many last night.

Well, more precisely, the Lancers threw at Triton defensive back Jared Wells three times too many and paid the price as the Vikings rolled to a commanding 29-13 win in chilly Byfield.

BYFIELD | Triton's defense looked strong against the Masconomet rush, led by senior co-captain Eric Bunker, for most of the night. The Vikings' D even reversed the Chieftains for -4 total ground yards through the first half, but Eric Bunker also proved to be a dangerous passing target for his quarterback cousin, Craig Bunker as the duo connected on a 56-yard pass in the first quarter to give 9-1 Masconomet the early lead | and Masco never looked back as it left Byfield with the 21-0 shut out.

BYFIELD -- Triton was able to stem the tide for the first 22 minutes last night in chilly Byfield, but ultimately the hosts had no answers for either North Andover's running game or its relentless pass rush as the Vikes fell to the Knights, 14-9.

BYFIELD | The calendar may have said Friday 13th, but there were no horror shows for the Amesbury football team in Byfield last night as the Indians scored 13 unanswered points in the second half to post a commanding, 23-6 win, and in doing so serve notice to the rest of the league that they plan on hanging around for the long haul.
