Pentucket's Emily Rubio jumped a personal-best 5-5 in the high jump in the Green and White's season-opening dual meet against North Reading. The reigning Daily News MVP also won the 300 (44.80) and was a member of the winning 4x200 relay team along with Sydney Trout, Reese Gallant and Sage Smith.

Goalie Tyler Correnti scored the game-winning penalty kick goal in the second half to give Pentucket a 2-1 victory over North Reading. Correnti also made eight saves, while Pentucket's Liam Sullivan tied the game with 12 minutes left in regulation.

WESTFIELD — There were plenty of fine performances at the Mass. All-State Track Championships.

Alex Bishop took first in the 55 hurdles and the high jump and was on the winning 4x400 relay team but that wasn't enough as Pentucket's boys fell to North Reading, 48-38.

In a battle of two of the top Cape Ann League powers, Pentucket edged North Reading 43-42 with Emily Rubio leading the way. She had a PR clear of 5-4 to win the high jump and was also second in the 600. Reese Gallant had a personal-best 6.9 to win the 55 meters.

It was a long time coming for the Pentucket basketball team. Friday was its opener but the PRHS boys fell to North Reading 61-38. Silas Bucco had 11 points in the loss.

Liv Reagan scored twice and had an assist as Pentucket's field hockey team rebounded from a Monday loss by beating North Reading 4-2.

LOWELL – History suggested the end wouldn’t come Saturday afternoon.

WEST ANDOVER - As the buzzer sounded at halftime, Greater Lawrence seemed to have finally found the momentum it had been searching for on Monday.

Brandon Palmer aggressively jumped in front of an opponent and picked off a pass. He then fired the ball to Wander Languasco on the fast break, and he tossed in a shot as time expired in the half.
