Methuen, in a battle of teams battling to make the tournament, defeated Needham 50-45, holding the host team to five points in the fourth quarter. Amanda Petrow had a double-double with 14 points and 14 rebounds for the Rangers (8-9) and Beka Costa played an excellent all-around game.

Londonderry too tough

Haverhill did well considering high-scoring Kayla Pellot was out due to illness and starter Hannah Guselli was injured early, but the Hillies fell to Tewksbury, 38-29. Molly Hoopes continued her quiet effectiveness with 17 rebounds and Jessica Cotto led the offense with eight points.
