After dropping the second game, Whittier's volleyball team regrouped and came back strong strong to defeat North Shore 25-18, 25-13 in the next two games to wrap up its 10th win of the season. Josie Sanchez had 13 kills to lead the way up front. Destiny Alicea had three aces among her 12 service points.

Destiny times two

Whittier snapped a two-game losing streak with its 3-1 volleyball victory over Everett. Destiny Jordan excelled on the back line with 25 digs, 19 service points and 6 aces, while Destiny Alicea "really grew as an offensive and defensive player" according to coach Deb Littlefield, adding 21 service points and 12 aces.

Trudy Goetchius was a force at the net with 19 kills and 7 blocks, while Shabeli Villa (10 service points, 6 aces and 21 digs) offered quality baseline play as Greater Lawrence beat Whittier in three straight games. The Reggies moved to a perfect 12-0 with the win.

Serving up a victory

Whittier got tons of quality serving to sweep PMA with three identical 25-19 scores. Destiny Jordan was exceptional with 16 service pojnts and 10 aces. Cassie Glode served 10 straight points at one critical juncture, adding 17 digs, while Kaitlin McHugh shined defensively.

With a team-high 18 points and 7 aces, Destiny Jordan "did a lot of things well for us" according to head coach Deb Littlefield as Whittier shutout Northeast. Josie Sanchez had a good overall performance, playing well both led at net and the service line.
