Phillips still winless

ANDOVER — Mike Kim scored from seven yards out as time expired in the game as Phillups averted a shutout but still fell on the short end of a 28-6 decision to Worcester Academy.

Tyler West led Phillips with 45 yards rushig whilehe collected 16 yards by air.  The Big Blue defense was led by John O'Brien's 13 tackles.

Walsh, North Andover roll over Phillips

“Everyone told us they had (postgraduates) and Division 1 prospects,” said quarterback Brandon Walsh. “We came out firing because we wanted to prove the point that we could keep up with the prep school.”

Phillips falls to 0-2

 

ASHBURNHAM — Phillips Academy was only trailing by a point at halftime, but its offense never got on track and the Big Blue fell to Cushing Academy 20-6.

Trailing 7-0 in the second quarter, Phillips cut the gap to 7-6 on a one-yard Joe Kruy runbuut the extra-point failed and the Big Blue was not able to score again.

Phillips drops opener

Phillips coach Leon Modeste was far from pleased about how his squad's 2011 season opened, as the Big Blue fell to Loomis Chaffee 33-13 yesterday.

"It hurts," said Modeste. "We were really banged up, but you still have to play, and we did not play well tonight."
