Sam Bomba was outstanding in goal as Pentucket nipped Amesbury/Whittier 2-1. Bonba had 36 saves including 19 in the third period qhwn the Sachems were outshot 19-2.

Derek Hunter and Dan Rivet each scored two goals while Mike Cusack, Jake Silk and Rick O'Connor each added two assists to help North Andover boys hockey win 4-2 over Amesbury-Whittier.

Unforgettable first

Freshman Travis Motsis scored his first varsity goal, which proved to be the game-winning in Whittier-Amesbury's 3-2 win over Pentucket-Georgetown. Freshman Tabor Smith assisted on the goal along with junior Tucker Holt, who earned his first varsity point with that helper. Junior Evan King (18 saves) withstood a late Pentucket enslaught to secure the win.

Bouncing back

Youthful Amesbury-Whittier is maturing, and winning, as shown by its 3-1 hockey defeat of Masconomet. Underclassmen ruled the scoresheet as freshman Tabor Smith and sophomore Connor Stevens lit the lamp for the co-op team and junior Evan King turned aside 24 Chieftain shots. "This is our first win over Masco in a number of years," said head coach Chris Kucher. "The younger kids are coming a long way and it's good to see that happening." In just six games, Amesbury-Whittier has more wins (3) than it did all last year.

Senior Tony Luvoulo and sophomore Zach Fitgerald each broke throgh with their first varsity goals as Whittier-Amesbury topped Pentucket, 5-1. Tabor Smith had a goal and two assists for the 2-1 Wildcats.
