Jaguars cruise

Windham's softball team scored in every inning but the fourth on its way to coasting past Hollis-Brookline 12-6 in the first round of the Division 2 tournament. Emily Comtois and Christina Steere both had three hits and two RBIs and Alyssa Upton was 2 for 3 with two runs scored and two RBIs. Windham will host Pembroke Saturday at 4 p.m. in the semifinals.

Emily Comtois smacked a two-run homer in the first inning to give Windham the lead but the Jaguars were shut down after that and were upset by Pembvroke 5-2.

Rachel Rogers struck out 12 and allowed only three hits in Windham softball's 8-2 victory over Oyster River. Rogers also went 2 for 3 with a triple and three RBIs.

Terrific Thompson

 

Erin Thompson had three hits, including a pair of doubles, and four RBIs and Sanborn scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh on a Windham error with two outs in a 9-8 victory. Rachel Rogers hit a home run for the Jaguars.

PELHAM — Windham is bucking the trend, and doing it quite nicely.

While most softball teams prefer to settle on an ace to handle all the pitching chores, the Jaguars are splitting the duties among three pitchers and enjoying the results.
