 Leadoff batter Christina Boutin had a superb game, going 4 for 4 with 4 RBIs and 2 runs scored to pace Whittier past Northeast 12-0 in six innings in Division 3 North action. Kayle Hobbs was 3 for 4 with two runs scored for the Wildcats (19-3), who host the winerr of Sunday's Weston/Austin Prep matchupp on Monday at 4 p.m. Winning pitcher Kayla Riley and Lena Faranna both added two RBIs.

Whittier Tech's softball team warmed up for the Division 3 North tournament by rolling to the State Vocational  State Title Wednesday, clipping Blackstone 7-2. Kayla Riley struck out 17 batters for the third time this year to pick up the win, Dominique Ortiz had two doubles and four RBIs and Ashley Wilson had a home run and two RBIs  as the Wildcats improved to 18-3.

Whittier's softball team not only ended the regular season with a 16-1 romp of Greater Lawrence but that counted as the semifinals of the State Vocational Tournament because the Wildcats (17-3) were seeded first and the Reggies fourth. Kayla Riley threw a one-hitter over five innings, striking out nine, and had a home run and scored three runs and Ashley Wilson (2 for 4) and surgings sophomore Eliza Slocum (3 for 4) also had home runs. Dominique Ortiz had four RBIs.

Whittier beat Shawsheen 17-3 in five innings as Kayla Riley fanned eight in a 1-hitter and Michaela Martin, Kayle Hobbs and Ashley Wilson homered.

The Whittier Tech softball team beat Greater Lowell 7-3 on Tuesday to clinch the Commonwealth Athletic Conference Large title. Christina Boutin, Kayla Riley and Eliza Slocum all had two RBIs in the win. 

Kayla Riley fired 6.1 innings of no-hit ball and settled on a two-hitter with 13 strikeouts. She also had three hits to carry Whittier to a 7-1 win over Notre Dame-Tyngsboro. Dominique Ortiz collected her 100th career hit.

Kayla Riley was 4 for 4, scored 4 runs and drive in 4 runs as Whittier remained unbeaten in softball (12-0), outlasting Essex Tech 10-7.

Freshman Kaley Thibault hit a two-run homer to help Whittier down CAL foe Newburyport 10-8.

Whittier beat Northeast 16-1 in five innings on a Lina Faranna 3-hitter. Kayle Hobbs drove in six runs while Ashley Wilson scored four runs.
