Senior Bethany Dyer's suffocating defense and 17 digs played a key role as well for the Rams (10-1). 

When Whittier's girls volleyball team lost its second set to Northeast and the match was tied, junior Nina Berube stepped up big. Her accurate serving, finishing with 18 points and four aces, got the Wildcats back on track and running to a 3-1 victory.

With Greater Lawrence trailing 15-13 in Game 2 vs. Whittier, Jennylee Sosa served out the final 12 points in a row to spark the unbeaten Reggies to the 3-0 win.

With only one returning starter — April Richardson, Whittier's volleyball team is looking to improve one step at a time.

"We're just breaking down our games after we play, finding the weakest piece and working to get better at it," said Wildcat head coach Deb Littlefield.
