Windham vs. Kearsarge. Division 3 championship at Southern NH University

Ali Connors, Kayla Breton and Courtney Sweeney combined for seven second-half goals to lift undefeated Windham to the Division 3 state championship with a 15-10 victory over Kearsage Regional.

The top-seeded Jaguars (18-0) blew open a deadlocked game with five goals the first 12 minutes after intermission, then fended off a late rally by the Cougars.

Windham's girls lacrosse team was more than ready for last night's Division 3 game vs. Hopkinton. The unbeaten Jaguars (17-0) scored four goals in the first two minutes of play, led 13-5 at halftime and wound up with an 18-11 victory over Hopkinton. Freshman Courtney Sweeney had six goals to lead the way and classmate Ali Connors added four.

Freshman phenom does the trick for Windham

Freshman Courtney Sweeny scored four goals and had six assists as top-seeded and undefeated Windham rolled over No. 8 Oyster River 17-6 in the Division 3 quarterfinals, the first postseason victory in the program's two-year history.

Kayla Breton was the area-scoring leader last spring with 98 goals and it doesn't seem like she wants to give up her crown. The Windham senior pumped in an eye-popping nine goals in a season-opening 17-5 win over ConVal. Jaguars coach Jill Bartlett said of the Merrimack College recruit, "It's what we've come to expect from her. She sets a high standard. She just played with composure."
