Sanborn closes season

Shawn Gowans helped Sanborn keep the score close early with a 23-yard first-quarter touchdown, but it wasn't enough to send the Indians home with a victory in the season final.

Unfortunately, Gowans, who finished with a team-high 64 yards on 10 carries, was the only Indian to find the end zone in a 37-6 defeat at John Stark.

Sanborn downs stubborn Pelham

Pelham NH- Last week's 9-8 nail bitter of a victory over Manodnock apparently was not enough thrill for the Sanborn Indians. On a chilly night in Pelham, what looked to be a blowout in the making turned into a last second heave that potentially could have tied the game.

Sanborn upsets Monadnock in thriller

Kingston NH- On what was their day to be recognized, the seniors for Sanborn made the key plays to clinch the 9-8 victory over Monadnock. With 1:47 left to play, Shawn Gowans went airborne to intercept Monadnock quarterback JT Cloutier to seal it for the Indians.

Souhegan runs past Sanborn

Sanborn tried to maintain their winning momentum heading into their matchup with Souhegan Saturday afternoon. The Sabers, however, ran past Sanborn in an impressive 455 yard rushing display.

The Indians were coming off a 31-7 win against Conval last week, but could not stop the Souhegan ground attack.

Sanborn football runs over ConVal

The Sanborn football team ran wild over ConVal, putting up 408 yards rushing en route to a 31-7 win Friday night.
Shawn Gowans finished with 183 yards rushing and a touchdown on 12 carries, and Nate King added 136 yards and two touchdowns on 20 carries. Quarterback Brian McGough only had one completion, but it was a 39-yard touchdown to receiver Kyle Storms.
ConVal took an early 7-0 lead in the first quarter, but Sanborn tied it up in the second on a 1-yard touchdown by King, making it 7-7 going into halftime.
Sanborn dominated the game from there, taking the lead on McGough's TD pass to Storms and making it a two-score game after King went for his second TD on a 4-yard rush.
Christian Ehlers kicked a 28-yard field goal in the fourth quarter, and then Gowans capped off his impressive day on the ground with a 1-yard touchdown.
Sanborn improves to 1-3 with the win, and the Indians will host Souhegan next Saturday at 1:30 p.m.

Sanborn loses late lead, falls to Hollis-Brookline

HOLLIS — Shawn Gowens' 11-yard touchdown run midway through the fourth quarter gave Sanborn the lead, but Hollis Brookline responded with a score with just over two minutes remaining to down the Indians 26-20.
