Record Broken

The Pentucket girls broke the school record of 9,725 with a score of 9,774 in the North Sectional heptathlon. Saige Tudisco placed third with a 3,483, Ellison Seymour placed seventh with a 3,282 and Sterling Seymour placed 16th with a 3,009.

Valenti, Hornets take Division 3 title

Julia Valenti was once again a dyanamic presence, winning the pole vault (10-6) and 100 hurdles and taking second in the shot put as North Reading won the EMass. Division 4 team title with 99 points.

THREE-PEAT

The North Reading girls won the CAL Track Championship with a score of 125.75. It is the third consecutive year that the Hornets have taken home the crown. 

Julia Valenti placed in three events for the Hornets, winning the pole vault (11-07) and the shot put (36-11). Julia McDonald also placed first in the javelin with a distance of 106-11. The team of Mia Denofrio, McDonald, Olivia Esposito and Meredith Griffin won the 4x400 relay with a time of 4:31.99.

Perfect Hornets

North Reading boys and girls swept Pentucket and Newburyport and both finished as 8-0 CAL champs. Julia Valenti won four events in an 83-62 win over Pentucket. Meredith Griffin swept the distance events. Bob O'Donnell had a big  47-3.5 shot put win for the boys.

North Reading wins D4 State Relays

After finishing runner up the last two years, the North Reading girls track team finally broke through, winning the MSTCA Division 4 State Relay title. The Hornets earned 67 points to finish well ahead of second place Norton (54) and third place Hamilton-Wenham (52), and were led by Julia Valenti, Victoria Grasso and Juliette Nadeau, who were each part of two different first place relay teams.

Talented Tudisco

Pentucket's Saige Tudisco scored 2,572 points to win the Pentucket Pentathlon. Her top effort was a 17.26 in the hurdles.
