HAVERHILL — With time ticking down in the third quarter, Whittier’s Emma Saulnier posted up in the right corner and drilled a 3-pointer to a huge roar from the Whittier faithful.

 Trailing by six points with 1:20 to play, Whittier Tech's girls rallied behind Olivia Beauchesne for a 62-59 overtime victory over Greater New Bedford in the semifinals of the State Vocational tournament. Beauchesne had eight points in the fourth quarter and a season-high 18 overall while adding nine rebounds. The Wildcats will play Blackstone Valley in the Voke finals today at 5 p.m..

Olivia Beauchesne scored 10 points and grabbed eight rebounds as Whittier claimed its fourth Commonwealth Conference title in five years with a 48-32 win over Essex Tech.

Xciana Flores erupted for 22 points and Emma Saulnier provided crucial defense as Whittier downed Shawsheen 65-48.

Chibuzo Onwuka (11), Kaley Thibault (10) and Olivia Beauchesne (10) hit double figures and Whittier whipped Lynn Tech 68-36.

Along with her six points, Hannah Dalton also dished out six assists to help a depleted Whittier, playing without four of its players due to sickness, to a 58-28 win over Minuteman.

Down by nine points with three minutes left, Whittier's girls rallied for the second straight game, defeating Lynnfield 55-49. Grace Efosa led in scoring with 18 points, Kayle Hobbs had three 3-pointers in the fourth quarters and Allison and Olivia Beauchesne dominated inside for the Wildcats (14-1)..

After being tied up at halftime 19-19, Whittier's girls went on a splurge to defeat Chelsea, 57-44 for their ninth straight win. Xciana Flores led the Wildcats (13-1) with 17 points.

With Whittier trailing by a point and 30 second remaining in the game, Xciana Flores knocked down a 3-pointer, then clinched it with a hoop off a Kayle Hobbs steal in the final seconds to give the Wildcats a 54-50 win over Greater Lowell.

Freshman Grace Efosa scored a team-high 18 points as Whittier handed Mystic Valley just its second loss of the season, 57-52 in a battle of Commonwealth Conference powers.
